Fire Rated Riser Door FAQ

Everything you need to know about specifying fire rated riser doors.

Our fire rated riser doors are available in 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute integrity ratings, independently tested to BS 476 Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018. The required rating depends on the fire strategy for your building, the wall construction type, and the compartmentation requirements of the riser shaft being protected.
All fire rated riser doors are independently tested to BS 476 Part 22 (fire resistance) and BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018 (fire resistance tests for door and shutter assemblies). Testing is carried out by UKAS-accredited laboratories and each doorset is supplied with formal test reports and data sheets for Building Control submission.
Single leaf riser doors use one door panel and are suited to narrower riser openings. Double leaf doors use two panels that meet in the centre, allowing access to wider shafts without needing an oversized single door. Multi-door units use three or more panels for the widest openings. All configurations are available with the same fire ratings and are tested as complete doorset assemblies.
Single fire rated riser doors are available from 300 x 300mm up to 1200 x 2400mm. Double door configurations extend to 2400 x 2500mm, and multi-door units are available for even wider openings. Bespoke sizes are manufactured to suit your structural openings, and all custom sizes maintain the same fire performance and certification as standard sizes.
Standard fire rated riser doors are manufactured and delivered within 3 to 5 working days. We manufacture in the UK at our Nuneaton facility, so there are no import delays. For large volume orders or bespoke configurations, contact us for a specific lead time based on your project requirements.
