UK manufactured zintec steel insulated loft hatches. Independently fire tested with integrity ratings up to 120 minutes (BS EN 1364-2) and PIM documented U values from 0.567 W/m²K (R12 Ladder) to 0.760 W/m²K (R12 PF / BF). Part L compliant with compression gasket draught seals and bespoke sizing to fit any ceiling opening.
A loft hatch, also referred to as a loft door or loft hatch door, is an insulated hatch installed in the ceiling to provide entry to the roof void or loft space above. Unlike traditional timber hatches, a metal loft hatch delivers superior durability, longevity, and where required fire performance tested with integrity ratings up to 120 minutes. Rapid Access manufactures insulated loft hatches in house at our UK facility, giving us full control over quality, lead times, and bespoke sizing. Available with either a beaded frame or picture frame, each unit is made to measure for a precise fit. Fire rated, insulated, Part L compliant and non fire rated options ensure you can match the specification to your project requirements.
Insulated, fire rated loft hatches with up to 120 minute fire integrity (BS EN 1364-2) and airtight variants available.

Insulated BackUK manufactured zintec steel loft hatch with high density rigid foam insulation. Picture Frame and Beaded Frame variants achieve integrity ratings up to 120 minutes per PIM variant data; the Ladder variant is non-fire-rated and supplied insulated only. PIM documented U values: 0.567 W/m²K (Ladder) and 0.760 W/m²K (Picture / Beaded Frame). Part L compliant with compression gasket draught seals and bespoke sizing to fit any ceiling opening.
Engineered to improve building performance, simplify compliance, and reduce heat loss through the ceiling plane.
Fire integrity ratings up to 120 minutes tested. Maintains fire compartmentation between the dwelling and roof void where required by Approved Document B.
Insulated metal door reduces heat loss through the ceiling plane. A significant improvement over traditional timber hatches that offer poor or no thermal performance. PIM documented U values: 0.567 W/m²K (R12 Ladder) and 0.760 W/m²K (R12 Picture / Beaded Frame).
Powder coated steel construction delivers enhanced longevity compared to wood. Built to last the lifetime of the building without warping, cracking, or degrading.
Every unit manufactured to order for a precise fit. Standard loft hatch sizes range from 300 x 450mm to 1000 x 1200mm, with bespoke dimensions available for non standard openings. Manufactured in just 3 to 5 working days with no minimum order quantity.
Beaded and picture frame profiles deliver a clean, flush installation. Frame fixes to timber joists using minimum 3.5mm × 50mm countersunk self drilling woodscrews at 44mm hole centres (per PIM technical data).
3 point locking system as standard (bright zinc plated mild steel) paired with a continuous steel piano hinge. Bespoke locking options for residential, communal and multi occupancy buildings available on request.
Loft hatches are specified across a wide range of building types wherever safe, compliant access to roof voids is required.

Suspended ceiling access to roof voids, mechanical service voids, plant room ceilings and ceiling mounted maintenance access.

Apartment loft access, attic conversions, communal roof voids and ceiling access in flats and houses.
