What is FlipFix?

A patented clamping system that revolutionises access panel installation — designed and manufactured in Nuneaton, UK.

FlipFix is Rapid Access's patented fixing device that clamps access panels directly into plasterboard walls and ceilings without the need for timber framing, screws, or adhesives. The mechanism grips onto the rear of the plasterboard, creating a secure mount that can be completed in as little as 5 minutes — saving significant on-site labour time compared to traditional installation methods.

The FlipFix range covers five distinct access panel types, each designed for different finishes and applications. From exposed metal-faced panels to concealed plasterboard and tile-faced options, there is a FlipFix product for virtually every wall and ceiling scenario. All products are manufactured from Zintec steel with powder-coated RAL 9010 (30% gloss) finish as standard.

Need a plaster-flush finish?

→ Choose the Plasterboard Door for a fully skimmed finish, or the Metal Beaded Frame for a beaded plaster edge with a metal door behind.

Need fire rating above 60 minutes?

→ Specify the Metal Picture Frame or Metal Beaded Frame — both available with 90-minute and 120-minute fire-rated variants certified by Warringtonfire.

Need acoustic performance?

→ The Metal Picture Frame is the only FlipFix product with a tested acoustic rating of 32 dB. Other acoustic requirements may be met with the wider Rapid Access range.

Need circular access?

→ The FlipFix Circular provides ceiling access from 200mm to 600mm diameter with a twist-out action. Available non-fire-rated or fire-rated up to 120 minutes.

Tiled wall application?

→ The FlipFix Tile Door features a moisture-board door and perforated beaded frame designed for ceramic tile application. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and utility spaces.

Need airtight or smoke-tested?

→ Only the Metal Picture Frame and Metal Beaded Frame offer ATS (Airtight + Smoke Tested) variants, available at 90 min and 120 min fire ratings.
