Air leakage through service penetrations can undermine an entire building's energy strategy. In hospitals, laboratories, data centres, and Passivhaus developments, uncontrolled air movement compromises comfort, compliance, and running costs. Our airtight access panels are pressure-tested to European standards, giving specifiers and contractors verified performance they can trust.

FAQ

Everything you need to know about specifying and ordering airtight access panels.

Our airtight access panels achieve Class 3 and Class 4 airtightness ratings when tested to EN 1026:2016 and classified to EN 12207:2016. These are the highest performance classes available, suitable for demanding environments including Passivhaus, BREEAM, and NHS HTM projects.
All airtight access panels are independently tested to EN 1026:2016 for air permeability and classified to EN 12207:2016 for airtightness classification. Testing measures both air infiltration and exfiltration under controlled pressure conditions. Full test reports and certification are supplied with every order.
Yes. We manufacture multi-rated access panels that combine airtightness with fire resistance. Fire ratings from 30 to 120 minutes can be paired with Class 3 or Class 4 airtightness, and acoustic performance can also be added. This means one panel can satisfy multiple specification requirements.
Airtight access panels are available in metal faced and plasterboard faced options. Metal faced panels come with beaded or picture frame profiles for a clean, durable finish. Plasterboard faced panels can be skimmed and painted to blend seamlessly with the surrounding wall or ceiling surface.
Yes. Our airtight access panels are widely specified on Passivhaus, BREEAM, and low-energy building projects. The Class 3 and Class 4 ratings achieved under EN 12207:2016 provide the level of airtightness performance required for these standards. Each panel is supplied with airtightness test reports for design team and building control approval.
Yes. We manufacture bespoke airtight access panels to your exact dimensions. Custom panels are built with the same gasket seals, compression locks, and face options as standard sizes. There is no minimum or maximum size restriction, and all bespoke units are supplied with full certification and test documentation.
